Localization loops that avoid brand drift

Side-by-side language columns marked with revision highlights

Drift happens when localization is treated as a final paste step. We recommend a standing “language pair” review: English source locked, Korean draft annotated with intent notes, then a PMM sign-off on claims, not just grammar. Claims include numbers, superlatives you are willing to defend, and anything touching finance or health-adjacent categories.

Use a shared diff log. Each string carries an owner, a risk flag (low/med/high), and a screenshot of the UI context. High-risk strings get a synchronous readout; medium-risk can batch overnight. Low-risk still needs a spot-check because tiny UI truncations often break Korean honorific choices.

Finally, bake a rollback string set. If a legal or partner flag appears post-launch, you can revert to neutral phrasing without scrambling translators on a holiday weekend.
